When the Box Hill Golf Club undertook their redevelopment, the lighting component was originally going to be standard Dichroic 12 V 35W halogen downlights complete with transformers.
In a smart move, Box Hill and lighting consultant Perry Barden from Illuminates Lighting redesigned the lighting to switch to Verbatim 240V PAR 16 8W LED lamps - cutting the cost of the installation by half and therefore saving 75% on their ongoing lighting costs.
The iO Hotel in Eschborn, Germany, is the youngest member of the Contel Hotel Group that is also running hotels in Mainz, Koblenz, Darmstadt and Limburg. The hotel mainly attracts business travellers. It offers almost 300 guest rooms with modern facilities, 5 meeting rooms for events for up to 500 people, a restaurant, a hotel bar and a large gym. The iO Hotel was constructed with a focus on energy efficiency. The monthly energy consumption of the hotel is 22000 KW, costing €7500 per month (around $9,500 AUD).
Verbatim’s MR16 GU5.3 lamps were used in this project undertaken by Intrinsik Electronic Solutions and Borutta 3D Services. Intrinsik Electronic Solutions and Borutta 3D Services were responsible for the external lighting for the Melbourne Aquarium’s new shipwreck cove exhibit that emerges from the Yarra River at Southbank. The illuminated signage designed to advertise the new Shipwreck attraction created a wonderful nighttime atmosphere on the river for this entertainment precinct.
Although this prestigious hotel is ranked among the leading hotels in Prague, it has not escaped the impact of the global economic downturn. Facing growing competition from rival operators, the hotel has been busy finding ways to cut costs without reducing guest comfort. One of the major ways of doing this is to signifi cantly reduce electricity consumption, which is why it replaced its halogen bulbs with LED lamps made by Verbatim. Environmentally conscious customers visiting the hotel have particularly welcomed the move.

LED lighting was employed to accent existing store lighting to spotlight the product from below. 12 Verbatim GU5.3 4200K 6.5W MR16 lamps were used for this storefront display.

The illuminated interior shipwreck artwork creates a wonderful atmosphere as visitors make their way down to the exhibit inside the Aquarium. The wall mounted installation was illuminated using Verbatim’s warm temperature MR16 GU5.3 LED lights.
