If you intend to label a disc by writing on it, special pens should be used. These pens should not use solvent-based inks or have a fine point. Verbatim manufacture DVD/CD Marker pens and information can be found on the Accessories> Markers and Label Kits page.

Alternatively, discs can be fully personalised by adding labels onto the disc. When adding labels to CDs, please take special care to line up the disc with the label as attempting to remove a stuck on label can cause damage to not just the surface layer, but also the dye layer on the disc and therefore effect recorded contents.

Please note: we do not advise using labels on DVD media. There is a possibility that a label on a DVD disc may cause a balance issue, which generates problems when playing back what is stored on the disc.
